MARKPLAST CONRETARD 348
DESCRIPTION
MARKPLAST CONRETARD 348 is a highperformance retarding plastiser for conrete which maintian good workability especially in high ambient temperature. The retarding admixture is used in structural and mass concrete.
FEATURES / ADVANTAGES
- Considerably improves the cohesion of concrete, reducing segregation and bleed water of particular use where fine aggregates of poor grading and particle shape are evident
- Reduces placing problems in hot weather, through improved workability and workability retention
- Improves surface finish
- Improves trowellability
- Reduces honeycombing/cold joints effect
- Improves pumpability of concrete
- Reduces effects of various modes of attack on concrete and embedded steel through considerable reduction in permeability
- Reduced shrinkage and creep
- It does not contain Chlorides hence does not corrode the reinforcements.
- Elimination of vibration and reduced the labor cost in placing by implementing self-compacting concrete
- It donot contains chlorides or other ingredients promoting corrosions and steel reinforcement.Hence suitable for reinforced concrete structures
- Long hauls
- Elevated temperatures
- Re-vibrated concrete

- In hot weather concreting where delays to initial and final set are important and where maximum slump retention is of concern – such as site batched, precast, and ready mixed concretes
SPECIFICATION COMPILES
• ASTM C494 TYPE B and D
APPLICATION DETAILS
DOSAGE : 0.3 – 3.0% by weight of binder (300 – 3,000 ml for 100 kg binder). The retardation rate achieved is directly dependant on the dosage rate which in turn is influenced by quality of cement, aggregates, w/b ratio and temperatures.
APPLICATIONS
- Large volume pours
- Avoidance of Cold Joints
- Construction joints without formwork
EFFECT OF OVERDOSAGE
Dosages above the recommended limits may cause excessive retardation, but ultimate strengths aren’t affected negatively. During this period the concrete must be kept moist in order to prevent premature drying out.
COMPATIBILITY
Compatible with all types of Portland cements,
slag & pozzolans such as fly ash, Microsilica/
metakaolin etc. The product must not be used in
conjunction with any other admixtures unless
prior approval is received from CCPL Technical
service Department.
PACKAGING
50 Litre Can and 225 Litre Drums. Bulk Packing available specially on request
PRECAUTIONS
As with all chemical products, care should be taken during use and storage to avoid contact with eyes, mouth, skin and foodstuffs. Treat splashes to eyes and skin immediately. If accidentally ingested, seek medical attention. Reseal containers after use. Use in well ventilated areas and avoid inhalation.
SHELF LIFE
12 months in original unopened packaging. Minimum recommended storage temperature is (25oC).
