DESCRIPTION

ROCKPOXY EP6430 is a two packs, solventfree, food grade epoxy resin material. The material cures to provide a smooth, hygienic and tough finish which is suitable for contact with potable water and foodstuffs. It possesses all the attributes of normal solvent based epoxy compositions such as excellent water and chemical resistance, adhesion, hardness, toughness and mechanical strength. One of the major advantages of EP6430 over solvent based epoxy is that it can be applied on damp surface also. Being free from solvents, it does not pose any health hazard to the applicator. EP6430 is completely consistent & economical to apply.

FEATURES / ADVANTAGES

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

SURFACE PREPARATION: The substrate should be cleaned and free from loose materials and contaminations such as plasters, oil, paint and grease. Concrete surfaces must be fully cured, laitance free and free from any traces of shuttering, release oils and curing compounds. For Steel Surfaces all surfaces should be grit blasted to obtain bright metal surface. The lining work should be programmed so that newly cleaned steel is coated as soon as possible before the formation of rust or scale.

MIXING:

Part A – Base

Part B – Hardener

Prior to mixing, stir Part A mechanically. When all of Part B has been added to Part A, mix continuously for 2 minutes until a uniform mix has been achieved. To ensure thorough mixing pour the material into another container and mix again to achieve a consistent mix. Over mixing must be avoided to minimise air entrapment. After mixing allow the material to stand for 3 minutes.

COVERAGE

10.0 m2 per litre per coat at 100 micron thickness. This coverage figure is theoretical – due to wastage factors and the variety and nature of substrates. Practical coverage figures may be substantially reduced.

PRECAUTIONS

As with all chemical products, care should be taken during use and storage to avoid contact with eyes, mouth, skin and foodstuffs. Treat splashes to eyes and skin immediately. If accidentally ingested, seek medical attention. Reseal containers after use. Use in well ventilated areas and avoid inhalation.

DISCLAIMER

The above information and details herein are based on the tests conducted & experience on application and usage.
